Day 12 – Continue

We have reached Day 12 and Glucose levels are still far from perfect. We adjusted today to a super slightly higher dose, but gut feeling is telling me not enough. We will see after the 3rd reading this evening and talk to the Vet.

Obi is getting to his tolerance threshold! After being still in a good mood for the first blood draw, he than was fighting his insulin shot this morning.

It made me realize, that we need to move this forward a bit more swiftly as it is taking a toll on all of us, especially Obi, his ears and our nerves.

The food is still also in the development phase, but we are slowly getting a handle on this. (a mix of very little brown rice, with veggies and chicken, dash of Omega 3 oil and egg whites – home-cooked, with wet food and dry food specifically for Kidney disease, a Renal diet)

To get this food into Kenya is another story by itself and we are in the process to hopefully source it and find a way to sort this out.

Of course we will only see for sure if we are heading in the right direction with another blood test, which we are doing end of this month, July.

In the meantime we are celebrating Cheeku’s birthday today, who will be 7 years old or rather young. 🙂 Really can’t believe it!!

Time moves in funny ways, especially here in Kenya I have found. Can’t explain it……and maybe it just comes with getting older. hehe
